Later in the first quarter, running back Karson Lipper would take it 48 yards to the house for a Mavericks touchdown, putting them up 13-0. "It wasn’t until the second quarter that we saw some big plays from both teams. Running for 98 yards, #32 Alfonso Ibanez scored the second touchdown of the game for the Lancers. La Costa Canyon was up to show what they could do, and that they did after strong safety, Harper Engemann #10, intercepted a pass from La Serna. But that wasn’t all they were willing to show off.
